Here are the key details about the planned trip:

The purpose of the trip is to allow our Geographers access to Glaciers to explore cold environments, Geysers and Geothermal power. A visit to The Blue Lagoon and tectonic plate boundaries allows Igneous rock formation and metamorphic environments to be seen. This trip allows case study material that is directly applicable to A level units on Glaciation, Coasts, Energy, Fluvial Systems, Cold Environments, Plate tectonics and Climate Change. It will enhance knowledge and lead to improved exam performance
This price includes: Return Flights, Hotel Accommodation, Half Board, Entrance Fees to points of interest, Coach Transportation, Group travel insurance cover, NST 24hr emergency contact service whilst on tour
The tour is being offered to all Geography groups at AS and A2
The adults accompanying the group will depend on total numbers for the trip; currently Mrs Abigail Lord & Mrs Rachael Hurst
In addition to the tour cost, we recommend that your son/daughter has spending money for the trip.
An important reminder that a valid Passport and European E111 Health Card are required for this visit and we kindly remind you to check that your son/daughter has the valid documentation that is required. If your child’s documents are out of date, please apply for them within plenty of time. We will need to see this information around November to enable the tour operator to finalise our flights.
If, in the period immediately prior to the trip, a student is found to have an overall attendance of below 75% and to be on stage 2 or 3 of the college’s disciplinary procedure, such a student would not be permitted to attend the trip and any fees paid would not be re-funded. Of course, we would not expect any students to have shown such a poor approach to their studies as to have put themselves in this position.
Please return the payment slip (below) directly to the Finance Office (G104) between the hours of 9.00am-1:15pm by Friday 10th January 2020.
